Keeping dead maggots.

Steve. Can you explain what you mean please mate, water?
When l want to defrost my dead maggots l tip them into a 3 pint box of water so they are basically covered so to keep the air from them.
Like casters that you put onto your side tray to dry out and darken in the air, they start to deteriorate.
Dead maggots left in the open ,in the open air deteriorate much quicker than those in water.
Plus you can add a flavour to the water if you so wish.

Yes - always thaw frozen maggots in water. That was a tip by Stuart Bracey. They come out quite plump.

I freeze mine in water, I think they are loads better,, my method is,, riddle them, getting rid of any rubbish, put them in a bag, without any air, chuck them in the bait fridge to go dormant for a day, then tip them in an ice cream tub full of cold water, I don’t bother with the lid, straight in the freezer, they come out perfect👍👍👍,,
