I've just started using my brand new John Wilson Avon Quiver. It has three push quivers, colour coded yellow, orange and green. [8D]

Does anyone know the ratings of these three tips please [?] I think I've worked out that the green is the heaviest and yellow is the lightest but I'd like to know the ounce values (or grams if you're metric [:D]).

There was a review on this (and other Avon Rods) in IYCF last year. It came out top btw. If I get a chance I'll dig it out and have a look to see if they rated the tips at all.

What exactly do these ratings mean, I've never really understood them, are they like test curves of rods? another bizarre system for measuring nothing in particular.

Cheers

Hi SteVeC

Welcome to MD's. As far as I know it is the test curve, i.e the weight needed to bend the tip 90 degrees from the plane of the rod. But then again I may be wrong.
