a bit of a long shot i know but does anyone know of a water in the fylde area that may be suitable for a session prior to going to ireland? three of our party have never been before and it would help them to get a feel of it

It's not in the Fydle area but if you don't mind a bit of a drive I'd suggest having a go at Semerwater.

It's a big lake and you're fishing for bream, skimmers and roach - very much like you are in Ireland.

You'll have to reduce the bait and hook size a little but otherwise its very much like fishing the big lakes in Ireland (except its nowhere near as deep)
