i do it all around me but thats because i hav a 4 swimms break the ice and then set your kit up pum the bottom and about an hour laster u should be catching
4kg sash window balance weight, 3m of 4mmx28mm chain & 25m of 10 mm polypropylene rope.
The sash weights are great because they are a long bar & usually land "pointed end down". I can then use the chain to "saw" through the ice back to the bank. Do this down both sides of the swim & then break up the stuff in the middle & tuck it under the ice at the sides using your pole (CAREFULLY!)
for cat ice use a pole cup with holes in it and sprinkle salt or groundbait onto the ice! works a treat also i had a breaker but i lost it (i think my bro nicked it!) cant find a decent replacment! anyone got a suggestion of where i can get one?
Peter.
I thought we were talking about ICE!.
That stuff's just a bit of surface tension[][]
Where I'm at ice is made for skating on & we chop it up with Stihl saws to make Igloos[)]
