For the past few years xmas has been a pain for us (Dian & me).

Last year we went through hell with Dian having problems carrying B'lanna (any parents will understand what we went through) that carried on into early this year.

This year isn't as bad but its still ended up with a hospital trip for most of the day & Dian ending up staying in there again.

Dian woke with a sore throat yesterday, this morning her throat had swollen & she was having difficulty swallowing.

Come dinner time she couldn't swallow at all & had problems breathing, i looked in her mouth and the dangly thing (dunno what its called) at the back of her throat was hat swollen it was touching both sides of her throat leaving a little gap (about the size of the old 5p's).

So off we went to the hospital, they've kept her in because when i left they didn't know exactly whats wrong.

Oh & just incase there's any "doubters" Dians on ward 8 in the SDGH if you don't believe me ring the hospital.

I'd have thought they would have kept her on the Observe-ation Ward mate, just to be sure [;)]

Give her all our best and tell her not to worry as she can always do the washing-up when she gets home [:D]

Although I don't know you personally, I hope all is well for you and your family soon. Have the hospital come up with an idea of what's wrong with Dian yet? I wish her a speedy recovery.

Hi All

Thanks for the kind wishes they're much appreciated.

After a lot of ummin & ahhing the docs have decided Dian has got a very nasty case of tonsilitus, they'll let us know tomorrow if they're going to operate or not.

At the moment Din is on all sorts of drips & pills etc to see if they will make any difference if they work (which is what they'll let us know tomorrow) she can come home, if they don't work then it'll be an operation for Dee [:(]

Thanks again.

my mate gets the same thing very regular
but the doc told him he is to old to have his tonsils out

(he is the grand old age of 32)
they said once you are past about 16 then they will not take them out

he is always bad and says he is going to kick off the next time he goes to the docs to try and force them to take them out

two words mate, one starts with F the other ends with it [;)]

Dian said to tell you thanks.

her throats still not right but the docs reckon she's well enough to come home , massive relief cosd the washing up, laundry, ironing etc was piling up (& the dogs ain't been fed since xmas morning).

Ahhh at least now everything can get back to normal [:D]
