Is very sobering seeing the sheer level of destruction around places I know well like sanibel, Cape Coral, punta gorda, fort myers beach, Naples etc. Is just utter devastation going to take months to tidy up and years to rebuild. Particularly odd seeing the sanibel causeway all bashed up as I’ve fished the grass flats and channels around that many times.

Good job it didn’t hit the keys or they’d have just been washed away.

Me and the wife were was due to fly to Miami in 2017, had free business class flights, stay for a few nights on South Beach, had tickets for Depeche Mode at the Miami Heat Arena and then a cruise. Then Irma hit, and you could just see everything slipping from my grasp. Luckily we were able to reschedule and ended up going 6 months later.
