How much have you got for your antique tackle?

I see the occasional small ad in newspapers etc claiming to pay good money for old style fishing tackle. I'm wondering whether there is really all that much to be made from it.

Does anyone have any tales to tell/advice?

Jolanta, I would imagine these dealers are looking to give you as little as possible for your vintage tackle as the're out to make a profit. Most vintage tackle isn't worth much unless its a big name ie Hardys. I kept my granddads tackle and and used to use it once a season fishing for tench Mr Crabtree stlye, people who know me will probably say I fish like that all the time[]

I was actually contemplating, rather than selling any, using some of the rods, reels and floats as wall d******ion as I have a rather olde worlde cottage. The thing which was putting me off was that it would make the place look too much like a riverside pub...

... the only remaining item I'd need would be some stuffed specimens in tanks!
