How big is your bush

Just about to fit new elastics in 4 top kits I Currently have fitted are the drennan internal slip bushes with a 2.6mm internal diameter, now the Preston hybrid slip elastic I have is 1.4, 1.6, 1.8 & 2.0 mm so do I need a bigger Bush for the 2mm? I'm thinking of cutting them back and putting 3.8 mm internal bushes in. I know I will lose some length but I want the elastic to run freely.

Would of thought if all sizes are correct that a 2mm elastic would run smoothly in a 2,6mm bush, however, personally i'd try it 1st & then if i wasn't happy i'd cut it back, not cut it back 1st, once its cut you can't put it back !

As with all hybrids use elastic lubricant, as said see how you go before cutting.

Should be fine, plus the elastic will narrow under tension anyway.
