Welcome aboard Mick [:)]

Drennan Double Strength for hooklengths, 'Diawa sensor' for heavy main lines, and I started using 'Silstar taktiq' for pole lines and low bs mains of which I'm well impressed with

Hi Michael
Fishing on a budget(though I find a box more comfortable),I tend to use Maxima for my mainlines which I get on mailorder deals from eg Derby Angling Centre. Maxima is a good quality line and although you read it's old line/inferior quality at cheaper prices, dont believe it -its never let me down.I always make sure though that I change my reel line every season. If I'm feeling flush,I'm also a fan of Preston's Direct Mono for feeder fishing or Drennan braid. For hook lenghts I tend to use Ultima Omega.
With pole fishing I'm a bit more selective.I was using Shimano Ultegra but I'm now into Preston Power line. For hook lenghts I just use a smaller diameter line in the same brand,Drennan Flurocarbon or none at all.
One thing to remember with all your spare spools of line is the dracula principle -if you keep them out of the light they'll last longer. No matter how much you've spent on them, over exposure to light will damage them and they'll let you down.
