Hook to line diameter .

Been talking with a friend about hooks and line diameters. Using a pattern like the 911 or similar types what would you say is the thinnest or thickest that you could use.
Say a twenty - 0.06 to what 0.20 ?
18 - 0.08 to 0.22 ?
Type of thing.
I know wire diameters come into it as for strenth but would / could you use a 22 with 0.20 say ?

For a 20 spade I wouldnt go any thicker than .13.

a 20 to 0.20 spade or eyed is a no no.

0.011 on a 20 spade. 0.013 on an 18 spade.
Would go thicker on an 18 or 20 eyed if using a hair. Depends on the hook and what diameter will pass through the eye twice

Thickest = 0.11 Guru N - Guage. ( 3lb )

Thinnest = 0.09 Guru N - Guage pro (1.5lb )

0.20 Varna ? It is a spade hook pal. How many wraps would you get on a size 16 mate ? You must have some extra long shank hooks ? ??

0.15 - 0.10, above 0.14 use eyed (unless bait is expander or bread where I may use 0.15 depending on venue/species (such as crucians)) as would be expecting bigger fish and using bait (meat/corn/hard pellet/chickpea) that would mask eye and have little benefit of the slightly lower weight equivalent of a nats gonad that spade has over eyed.
That nats gonad can be detected by said crucians at times!

I actually tie hooks up in 8lb line to size 2/0 spade end hooks for my special lob worm rigs.
What I'm trying to find out what is the heaviest line to hook size ratio for those of you that are catching carp to double figures.
