Hi All
Some of the MD members have been or are going to Holland on various trips this year (I'm off in 4 weeks). We've got a travel specialist on the site who can help, so I am asking if anyone would be interested in a 7 day (total including travel) trip next June (08)? A few have already booked. We are looking at travelling on the 12th June and arriving on the 13th (overnight ferry). Fishing 3 matches (all dayers) and having DIY days in between. We are looking to stay at the Citta Romana which I can tell you is spot on (great food and good lager).Once I know if there is interest I would post prices etc. As I say this is just testing the water, but please only respond if you have a genuinue interest!!
Tight lines all and long live MD and its members

Me & my mate would be up for it. He'd be favourite for the wooden spoon, ask Pegasus!!! He once came to watch us on the Aire and suggested I only took him to make me look good. Seriously though, we would be interested. Going in September this year, can't wait

I'm interested but may not be able to go if I can't drum up interest from the others I go fishing abroad with as we are off to Ireland next year and they can only manage one trip a year. Otherwise it'll be too expensive one in a car.

my suggested format would be practise fridaysaturday match's sun, tues & thursday. Free to do what you like in between. I think the Voorne would be the best suitable venue. Pools of say 10 per match, what do others think? No superstars allowed

I'm encouraged by the intitial response. We could use the coming months to agree transport as I would currently be on my own in a car which is not cost effective. I think the way forward is to ask Neil (our travel guru) to book for each car that is filled as they come. He say's that prices for Citta Romana (the bungalows we will stay in) are not out yet, but this notice gives people who really want to go time to save? Neil has said his firm would put up a MD trophy, which is only to be won by numpties like me? I agree with Dave and pools should be kept low to avoid us being 'fleeced' by those who fish professionally, although ALL MD members are very welcome to join us. We can always travel from both Hull and Harwich and meet at the camp? Now let's see how many will put their money where there mouth is!!!

Excuse my incompedence, but could this thread be a sticky somewhere appropriate, so others get the chance to see it?

I will respond to the thread as and when it progresses.

As I said my family and I are going on the 20th August, so if your in the bar in the evening come over and say hello (and put me on the fish). You can't miss me, I'll be the only Black man in the place.

Good luck, but make sure after you've empty the Voorne, you put them back for me!!

Didn't realise I joined 4 1/2 years ago. I've only posted 6 times - poor average or what.

BME, 'show off' your kidding, it was closer to 30LBS. If I had a BRILO BOX as nice as yours then that would be showing off!!

I have 2 other mates that are interested but need to get sorted before the 1st October due to the booking of holidays at work. Do you think we will know before then if this is going to happen? I am willing to help out on the organising side.

Thanks for the Glenn

Dave
No reply from Neil as yet, but I am aiming to match up with the two guys mentioned above if we can (12th June). Squatt and I are aiming to book then, as soon as prices are availble from Neil or Anglers World.
