Well personally I would definately feed some groundbait in this cold cold(brrrrr) weather. But what do I know? lol. Chopped worm sounds good and maybe a lobworm on the hook.

i would have 1 line chopped worm & casters start with a small/med dendrobina on the hook
if you get larger fish move in you can put larger bait onon second line just loose feed afew maggots every few minutes (12 @a time)if you get a lot of fish move in increase feed
even in march they dont normally want to much feed

tight lines.

Ian,

If you name the lake then you might find that someone has fished it and could help with specific tactics that work there as what works on one water may not on another. [:)]

I would steer clear of ground bait and rely on loose feed. All to often I have found ground bait to be the kiss of death on shallow waters.

chill out go fishing

Agree with esox, groundbait this time of year and in shallow, probably clear/cold water is a deffo no.

Feed a line, choppie and caster. If your pole fishing have an animal rig for the carp, 0.14mm line and a 14 hook for fishing dendra/double caster and another rig 0.10mm with a 18/16 for fishing a small piece of worm or single caster for the silver fish.
