Hi I have put my carp rods down for a week or two hoping to catch a tench are two, The problem is I am getting small minnows and can't seem to pick out the better fish. I do think they are their as I have seen shadows / ripple etc and have caught the odd bream but mainly just minnows. Whats the best way to seperate the men from the boys! The baits I have been using are corn + maggot.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as I am up there tonight for a short session.

Thanks in advance!

The pound I am fishing is in last weeks Angling times and as you can see thiers a good head of tench and perch and some very decent carp.

hi cris
get rid of the maggot
worst thing you can use if minnows are in your swim you`ll never feed them off, try mini boilies or pellet
and double corn
