Having a bad day at the office I decided an hour on the pond was in order. Called on my way home to get a pint of maggots to fish shalla.
Tackling up at the lake with a 5 no 4 float set 12 inches I threw out a handful of maggots and the water boiled. The next 25 minutes was a head Turner, the odd decent roach or little perch but I hit 1 in 10 bites. Getting fed up, I dug a pot of worms out of the carryall full dendra on, fished overdepth and...a tench in 30 secs. Next 30 mins saw 4 tench, 2 bream, a dozen perch and a carp. 20lb from an hrs fishing and head sorted.
