The 11th match of the season saw 14 of us arrive to fish. After the weather of the last week the water looked surprisingly good with a nice tinge of colour. The weather went from calm and sunny to howling wind and driving rain, but everyone caught, though probably not the amount hoped for.The top three weights going to those who were fortunate enough to find the nice bream that inhabit the stretch.
So no dry nets and an average of just over 4lbs a man.

This stretch is controlled by Reading & District AA.
For details look HERE

The next club match will be on the River Kennet at Ufton 24/11/02

Peter you just bought back childhood memories of when i lived in Reading i used to walk and then later bike to Mapledurham some great days were had on Hemp & Tares with the Roach or days on the feeder for Chub or Bream.

As for your next match at Ufton that brings back Barbel and stickfloat memories apart from the Burfield section (5 mins walk from my parents) that used to be my favourite stretch of The Kennet.
