It would appear that the Goverment is sending letters to the 1.5 million "At venerable group" (cannot take the bullet point off) - have you had one yet?

Government urges up to 1.5 million people in England who face the highest risk of being hospitalised by the virus to shield themselves and stay at home
People with specific underlying health conditions, including some being treated for cancer, will be contacted by the NHS this week
Plans also unveiled to deliver groceries and medicines for those most at risk from the virus where needed

Up to 1.5 million people in England identified by the NHS as being at higher risk of severe illness if they contract coronavirus should stay at home to protect themselves, the Government urged today (Sunday 22 March).

They will receive communication shortly with detailed advice on behalf of their GP practice or specialist on how best to protect themselves

As they only proposed sending out the letter yesterday I doubt you would have had it, no post on a Sunday, and knowing how the post office works give it a week!!!!

Interesting that they are sending letters to the part of the community which has the most sense and are probably nearly all obeying the Government's advice already!!!!

You can pay to have it anyway, think it a tenner or something so there's plenty to round (y)

From what I can gather it's for the very vulnerable rather than just the over 70s, asthmatics and other health problems. It's people with severe lung conditions or with compromised immune systems. I'm asthmatic and my wife has Multiple Sclerosis and type 2 Diabetes, but I don't expect we will be getting a letter this time. At some point in the near future our category along with age 70 + will probably be told to self isolate in a similar way.

My mate, has serious health problems, (was laid up in hospital for 2 months last year), he is in his late 50’s.
Been told to stay inside for 3 months, & to expect letter Tuesday.

I'm honestly wondering whether or not I'm in the group - either way I will be on the borderline of it and will take the advice anyway

And in Wales there are 70,000 - his from the BBC News Wales site

Letters are being sent to 70,000 of Wales' "most vulnerable people" advising them to stay indoors for 12 to 16 weeks.

First Minister Mark Drakeford said they should not "leave at all".'

"They will get a letter from their GP or consultant asking them to take the most drastic action of all.

"For 12 to 16 weeks, not leaving their homes at all so they have the maximum shielding from the virus."

Don't know if I'll get one or not - I'll have to wait and see :deal:

I had this text message this afternoon:

NHS Coronavirus Service: We have identified that you're someone at risk of severe illness if you catch Coronavirus. Please remain at home for a minimum of 12 weeks. Home is the safest place for you. Staying in helps you stay well and that will help the NHS too. You can open a window but do not leave your home, and stay 3 steps away from others indoors. Wash your hands more often, for at least 20 seconds.

Read more advice about staying safe at home.

We will send you more messages with information.
