It's that time of year where most of us need something to look forward to, and the Hartleton Fish-In has been one of my main joys for about 10 years now.
Ok, so I'm a sad bugger, I don't care!

But there's something special about it, and I'd love to hear from others who hope to be attending again.

I don't want to impose on Godber or Jessebobs, I know that Mick and Steve have organised it for years, so now I'm retired, I'm prepared to take up the reins if necessary, despite my lack of Portaloo expertise.

First of all, we just need an idea of potential numbers!
Godber, Jessebobs, Arky and Pat, Grannyspodder and the lovely Amanda,
Spanky, Len Wade, Musky and Hamish to start with?

And anyone else who appreciates that the true value of fishing is not just in filling multiple keepnets with stockie carp, will be very welcome!

Feedback, please?

Count me in...

A nice relaxing weekend's fishing, a few beers and a chin wag. You cant beat it.

If you fancy some silver fishing then it's a bite a chuck, and if I ever work out how to catch the bream then you could easily do 50lb.

So come along you'll be most welcome.

See, I hadn't even considered dates! [)]

If Steve is willing, I'm more than happy to leave it in his capable hands!
Ahoy Captain Jesse!

Looking forward to seeing all you gentlefolk again! [:T]

Dates are already pencilled in (same weekend as last year)
I havent brought it up myself as I felt last year the numbers were dwindling
and I know mr Bellamy likes to base the cost on at least 10 fishing which
we never had last year. But lets see how much interest there is as its only
a case of confirming
Thanks Mick for volunteering my services!!!

I'm a 'no' I'm afraid.
I'll be on holiday that weekend anyway. But I also think that Hartleton has had its day. If I'm honest I haven't much enjoyed the last 2 or 3 times I've been.

That's a shame Muskie - any reason you can share? (It wasn't the rough neighbours last time was it?)

Not your fault Spanky, nor anyone else's come to that. Its a combination of a lot of little reasons really; Hartleton has always been a bit of a 'bogey water' for me. I reckon I've blanked there as often as I've caught. - The place has become considerably 'carpy' of late. - The uptake of places at the fish-ins has been in severe decline. - The weather often does it no favours (last year's heatwave for instance). - Plus I think there is probably an element of anti-climax when I get there having looked forward to it and 'bigged it up' in my mind over the preceding months.

Somewhere else would be a welcome change.

All the above is IMHO of course. YMMV.

Good to see this topic is live again, I was beginning to lose hope!

Surely we can persuade a couple more to join us?

I have 1 Hereford lad who is able to come for a couple of nights and knows the water. May have another as well to boost the numbers.

Ok guys and gals, all being well I hope to make it this year! [:T]

I will probably rock up sometime on Saturday, I'm fishing the Lindholme Festival that week and it might be too late finishing to drive over on Friday night. (Especially if the bar is open.....)

Looking forward to meeting up with you all again. [:W]

So that looks like enough folks to have catch a few fish and have a laugh.

Now what weather would you like me to order for mid-June - warm like last year or horizontal rain with roving polar bears?
