I've been planning a full day Carp fishing at Halnaby for a while now and today i finally got the chance. The aim was to catch a double figure Carp. I got there about 6.30am and began to unpack my mountains of bait when to my horror i realised i'd forgot the dog biscuits! Nevermind that was always the 2nd plan of attack. The 1st plan was to Bolt Rig Halibut Pellets, as i'd done last week and landed 2 Carp in a short session. As i was setting up, the splashes on the surface and the sounds of slurping Carp made me realised i'd made a big mistake.

I put 2 rods out. One with a Method Feeder, the other closer in so i could Catapult particles out. After quite a few hours (and a move of peg) i had nothing to show but a couple of dropped runs, so i decided to fish Corn on the feeder to see if a smaller bait would work. I landed plenty of Roach and 5 Bream but no Carp[:(].

A valuble lesson learnt. Next time don't forget the dog biscuits![:I]
