Groundbait, groundbait, groundbait - is it for the angler or the fish?

I think that it's all about confidence in what you are using and being I mostly fish rivers its about conscitency and getting the bait to the place you want it. I use a few different types for all my fishing and they have worked for me. I have heard story's of certain groundbaits being miles ahead in a match situation particularly high salt content like 'turbo' over a low salt like 'lake' and vice versa. So being on the right mix is very important in my opinion when match fishing.

I have always said I hate it when anglers tell you what bait they prefer. For example, I like scopex instead of tuti fruity sweetcorn.
What the hell does it matter if you like it or not, you are not the one eating it.
That's like telling other dog or cat owners which dog or cat food you prefer.

I suppose it' depends on the method your using. In open end cage feeders for example, I mix other bits and pieces in the groundbait and use it as a carrier to get the 'goodies' to where I'm casting as well as an attractant. Very rare though do I use it when on the waggler.
