Hi,

If I answered this one I'd be giving away my secret recipe icon_smile_tongue.gif

Ok go on then but don't tell anyone else:

Not a million miles away from me is a petfood supplier that also sells breadcrumb, etc. Every now and then I pay them a visit and buy my ingredients, empty them into a big mixing tray, blend well and then weigh out and re-bag in 1 or 2 kg bags depending on time of year to be used.

The mix:

2kg's White Crumb, (good binder)
2kg's Brown Crumb (stops it from becoming stoddgy)
2kg's Red Crumb (just for colour)
1kg Fishmeal
1/2kg of micro Carp pellets (pond food but good for holding)
1/2kg of crushed maize (good for holding)
1/2kg of crushed or small hempseed (good for holding)

For cage feeders I use as mixed but when using the method depending on distance and water depth/temp I sometimes add a binder or extra white crumb.
If hand balling it in add extra brown crumb.

So far it has never let me down and I've had a few nice bags of fish using it icon_smile_big.gif

But don't tell no one - Dave
