hi joey
WELCOME TO THE MAD MDs
ill say the same basicly it the same as normal carp fishing, if they have never been fished for you could try prebaiting a spot out of way somewhere for a couple of weeks to get them used to the bait/feed your going to use,
if youwant more detailed advice please feel free to post on here it would be a great help if you could let us know more details for examples, size/depth of lake ,size of fish, what tackle you have available to use as we understand that in the different countries/continents these can change.
it would also help if you could just give us a rough idea of the type of fishing you have done & we could then try our best to help
tight lines.

A piece of bagel (floats nicely) has taken more than a few grassies.

And would you believe - they can be caught with pieces of weed tied on the hook and fished mid-water under a bobber.

Oh - and welcome to you. What part of New Orleans? I lived in Gretna a few years (well, quite a few LOL) years back.

Your state is getting to be sorta famous among some US carpers too. A couple from the Western US have set out to catch carp from all 50 states. They just added #47 when they found a pond in Hawaii with Koi. Now only Alaska (haven't been there yet) and Louisianna (3 trips over a couple of years and all blanks so far) are left.

Hey Newt

If they've done 47 out of 50, surely there must be another one besides Alaska and Louisiana to do?
