Google Maps - Cool 'Spy satellite effect'

I was browsing the Las Vegas Strip using Google Maps in Street View mode. I began to pan out, expecting it to revert to 'map mode' as it normally does. But instead it went from Street View to overhead camera view and could then pan out much further. I didn't know they did that. It's pretty cool!

you've always had satellite view, i've used it for years when looking for waters and seeing if i can spot any reed beds, sand bars or other efatures ;)
The new birds eye view can be a bit confusing but still great fun.

This is Groom lake in Nevada...or Area 51 as it's most commonly known :)


I'm also such a saddo i go into sat mode around airports and then scan around to see if i can find any aircraft coming in to land or take off :D
