I am guessing you mean the Willows at Hessay, near York on the A59.
I've been twice on club matches, both on the larger lake in front of the house.
I didn't really like the place. It was quite a rough trek to some pegs, not good for our older members.
Lots of little bays and snags. Quite peggy, some areas seemed to have fish while others didn't.
Normal baits, pellet, sweetcorn, meat, bread, worm, caster. No boilies allowed.
Not all doom and gloom though, there are some decent fish if you cop for the right peg on the right day.
I think I've been spoilt by these fisheries where you can park behind your peg.
Hope you have a good day.[:T]
its great mate full of fish some cracking ide to about 4 lb get there early as you can there is a spit that comes out behind the house get on the end of it take a floater rig with some 10lb mono on it band a dog bicci ona hair to a 12 hook and fire a few around it you will sack and i mean sack [:T][:T][:T]
stayed there for a few days last year and really enjoyed it
had some good fish just normal fishing methods shud see you through
yeah some pegs a little tough to get to which is a shame but on it`s day and the usual fisherman`s luck should see you having a good day`s fishing
found the owners very nice and the b@b is superb
depends highly what your going for, whether it is a match or pleasure, th most succesful methods there in summer for a match tend to be shallow into the sticks, feeding loads of maggots, be geared up and prepared to ship out fast.
pleasure fishing you will catch fishing just nice and easy!
