Stu ,Larry here met you and dave at the fishin so i decided to join you all on here. The Answer is the prize;s for winning 2nd 3rd etc were Rabbit's Deer,hence fur chicken's pheasant's hence feather.

Hi Stu,

I think Larry has the answer its something to do with the days when the gentry used to invite their staff into their side of life for a brief moment. They were given poultry and game as gifts/rewards, hence fur & feather.
