Having considered a Daiwa Connoisseur Z 11-13ft feeder (can't seem to get hold of one) the Free spirit rods have caught my eye, price is steep but it would be a one off ;)

Which model would be best for rivers? I'm looking at either the 13 or 14ft. Would the Special or the Distance be the better option? And is there much between them? Is the curve nice enough on the 3 piece rods without flat spots?

From what i can tell the distance version of the 14ft has stiffer tips and higher casting weight.

I have the 12ft HI's Special. I would use this on Rivers if required. Living in North Devon Only have big waters available. I have owned a CTX 11ft Power Feeder in the past and again would have had no issues using on the Rivers.

Both the CTX and HI's versions are fantastic rods, the CTX's are excellent value for money.

Not the answer you want but hope it helps.
