I have just ordered two off the web and was wondering if needed the special fox batteries?
Is this just a con?

In a word No But they are different from the rest of the fox range i get mine from B&Q

what size are they?

I can't see why such a low usage device would warrant 'xpower' batteries

Has any one got a set of these alarms? any faults etc?

i have some mate
spot on (but they don't seem to go off very often at the moment)

they never fault in the rain and i would recommend them to any one
(except stu as he loves to annoy people with his buzzzzzzzzzzz all day long

they take Lr1 1.5v small battery's

i paid 8.00 for my last 2 from a electric shop

Try Maplins Electronics for that type of Battery. They are normally the cheapest place to go.
