Mine are

• 1, in the summer time (Mungo jerry)
• 2, Stay (shakesperes sister) cos i used to listen to that a lot when fishing the cut
• 3, Babooshka (Kate Bush) cos my dad used to listen to it on our way to fishing

(oh & Dave i do mean one song/tune & not a made up from the webbo dictonary one[])

Off the top of my head:

Summer: Terry Jacks - Seasons in the Sun

Fishing: Isley Brothers - Summer Breeze.....or Foreigner - Cold As Ice at the minute.

Good times: Don Henley - Boys Of Summer. This reminds me of me and my mates when we were kids standing (remember that) on the Gallowgate terrace in eager anticipation of kick off. They used to play this tune quite a lot back then.

Also: Lindisfarne - Run For Home. I used to make sure that was ready to play on my walkman when I crossed over the railway bridge into Newcastle Central Station with the Tyne Bridge on the right hand side when I came home from leave in the Army. I knew then that I truly was home and, if I'm honest, I used to well up with pride.......soppy sod, eh?

Agree with the song but why does nobody remember the original version, not the Terry Jacks copy. Written by Jacques Brule and recorded by "The Kingston Trio" in 1964.

I must admit that i thought Terry Jack's was the original - that's taken the shine off that now.

Ah well, I suppose it's still a good sun - very moody!

Got one that covers them all. A bit weird I know, but I always remember fishing the Tennant canal in Swansea in the Summer with my Grandfather when Land Down Under by Men At Work was out and to this day, every time I think back to those days, I always associate them together, having the tune in my head while I was fishing opposite a pump house. Not catching anything, naturally.
