Float Paint

Want to paint the tops of some clear plastic floats (red, yellow black etc)

Whats the best paint to use and will they need an undercoat first with them being clear plastic?

The tips off DIY floats you get a better float by using high viz plastic tips to get a regular uniform painted tip is difficult.

If you want the tips to really stand out, use 2 coats of white, then one coat of flouro orange. I prefer to use matt paints for both undercoat and top coat.

I use Crafters acrylic fluoro paint for float tips. It's very good. Needs a matt white base as stated earlier.

And yellow. I can see yellow much better than red. And there are times when black is best.

Undoubtedly. Not all people's eyes are the same, then take into account the light conditions.

I'll buck the trend here. No undercoats and Fluo straight onto the CLEAR plastic. They look dull in the hand but allow the light through them and 'glow' when out in the water
