Hi,

I’m new to this forum but I was just getting back into float fishing for roach, Rudd, perch small carp etc and I am in need of a new rod. I’ve seen some rods on angling direct like the Advanta X3 power float, advanta x5 float rod and the Korum power float rod.

Are these any good or are there any others you would recommend don’t have a big budget so tryna keep it cheap ish,

Thanks in advance

As long as you are using balanced tackle then you will be surprised just how large a fish can be landed with a standard float/waggler rod.

Are you going to be fishing Stillwater or river?

What is your budget?

Do you want new or secondhand?

I picked up a Daiwa X Harrier 13’ and a Leeda Match 13’ when I restarted fishing a couple of years ago from a charity shop and they are perfect for flicking out a waggler or stick float.

There is a mass of stuff out there and I’m sure someone with a better idea of new kit will be along soon.

Hi guys,

Cheers for the replies so far,

It’s a Stillwater fishery my budget is around 60 quid and under. 60 being my max like, I don’t mind second or new just there’s so many rods out there I’m lost as to which one to choose

Advanta x5 is about 27 quid at the moment so looking like a strong choice

I have the x5 float 12ft x 3pc (in fact I have 2) and have to say I think it’s a great rod and I paid full price for mine. A bargain if it’s in a sale.

Ive just got one of these, not got to use it yet. For the money I couldn’t say no. I got it for fishing mixed lakes and rivers

Unfortunately it looks like the previous bargain prices have been removed from the Advanta rods so they can do 25% off all Advanta products.
