Fishing around Wigan

Hi Folks. I'm new to Maggotdrowners. Just moving over to my winter fishing for Pike/Perch around Wigan. Can anyone recommend any decent venues i.e. Canal/Lakes etc. Thanks.

Don't know if you belong to any local clubs? but if it's sport you're after the jacks on the canal around the back of the DW stadium will usually oblige. The upper and lower pounds of the Sankey canal on the Newton Anglers card are worth a try.
I don't know of any local venues containing larger fish. Tightlines !
