Hi All

There is going to be a fish-in at Izaak Walton Fishery near Stafford on the first weekend of December if any of you are interested.

I have arranged with the owner (Paul) for tents, bivvies & caravans to be accomodated on the top field.

There is no night fishing allowed so we will have to stop at dusk & resume at dawn. There are also no boilies, hemp or ground bait rules.

There will also be a raffle in aid of the Macmillan Nurses (any donations of prizes gratefully accepted).

for more info on the fishery click http://www.fisheries.co.uk/izaakwalton/index.htm

If any of you are interested please post on here or mail me stafford@go.fishing.co.uk

Certainly looks like it Stu,

It looks like we'll just have to go and show them how to fish again

I was talking to Alan (Trogg) last night and have put our names down so I'll have a word with Salford Van Hire and see if we can get a 7 1/2 tonner this time, we should be able to cause a bit of congestion with that

Seriously folks, I'll look forward to seeing you all again, Dave

A bit of a botch job i know but heres a slightly smaller map if you follow the blue line it will take you to the fishery.

I will be printing some signs off to go along the roadside anyway so keep your eyes open as you drive mate

Heres the map mate

PS the map is showing Izaaks cottage on the right but its on the left as you go along the road, the cottage is at the foot of a bridge you go over the bridge & take the immediate left turn to get to the fishery ok.

Right just to let everyone know.
The fish-in has been arranged for the 1st & 2nd of December.

We have already had some replys & promises of prizes for the raffle (one of the people donating is actually going to attend the fish-in)

If you could let us know for definate whether you are going to attend before the 20th of this month it would be a great help

One question:
Does anyone know where we can get a few tons of sausages, bacon, eggs & beans??
oh yeah & a bloody big BBQ to cook it all on

Nice one Dave (thought i was gonna have to raid a farm or summat)

Then again i'd have to be careful or we might end up with mad cow disease

As for the cooking John S one of the modds off AN has volunteered to do a bit of cooking

I ain't worried in the slightest

I just hope we don't all end up being
or running to the

Anyway i've had very little
in the last 24hrs so now i'm off to

G'night y'all
off air

Hi All,

I've just come back from a stay at my daughters. Am I too late?

A couple of questions though, is it a two day event, can I fish just one day, is there night fishing, what will the fishing be like in December and what are we likely to catch?

OK a few more than a couple

Hi Frank

(i hate questions)lol

1) you can fish either or both days mate the choice is yours. just turn up & pay for your ticket (normal day ticket)

2) no i'm afraid Paul who owns the fishery won't allow night fishing as he sees the night as the fishes rest period.

3) this place fishes all year round but obviously the colder the weather the less bites you get but its still worth going

4) what kind of fish can you expect weeeeeeeelllllllllll they don't get very big in Pauls pools

Thats a 25lb (dead on) Carp from the bottom pool (I've seen them to 38lb out of there) if you are planning on the smaller stuff the Carp get to 15lb in the middle pool & 20/25lb in the top pool.

There are loads of small silver stuff (well theres some large Roach n Rudd), Tench, Chub & some nice sized Perch in the pools.

In the river Sow there's Pike (seen them to 15lb), Trout (never had one o them buggers out), Chub (had one at 4lb on a spinner) & some very nice "little" Perch.

As for baits Paul doesn't allow boilies, GB or Hemp but i reckon if i ask him nicley he might let us use some GB & Hemp so long as its not enormous amounts.

My personal fave in the bottom pool is curried meat (don't tell anyone i told you ok)

Hope this helps you out mate & i'll hopefully see you there (can't miss me i'll be the big fat ugly git beating the hell outa Dave)

I knew some one would ask that

As you drive up the road towards the fishery you go over two bridges & round a left hand bend if you look to the left as you come round that bend you'll see a sign that says "the mill at worston" thats the pub.

Aaarghhhh,

Trogg, how many times must you be told about posting offensive material on sites? That photo, geesh fella, you nearly knocked me off my chair

It solved one problem that has been troubling me though,, how to keep the kids away from the fire,, solved - put the photo on the mantlepiece
