first ever barbel

how do guys n girls... drinks on me, caught my first ever ebarbel today..

4lber from sephton farm in lancashire. size 8 hook on 12lb hair rig. 1/4" cube of luncheon meat.

was best fight i ever had from a fish that small..

Whilst wanting to be clear that I'm not a barbel enthusiast of the type that is against barbel being stocked in lakes, I'd recommend having a crack at catching barbel from a river. That one will have showed you that they have considerable power, just imagine if it had been working out in a flow every day! They're an awesome fish!
