I know this is going to seem like i'm always asking for something but i just thought i'd share this

Grace is one of Cians best friends, she is a lovely little lass and you can't help but love her when you first meet her.

This is a little message from her mum and dad about something Grace and her twin Brother Loukas are doing later this year to raise funds for a bit of technology that will make a massive difference to Graces life.

This is Grace.
She's a funny, smart & determined little girl who loves socialising & meeting new people.
Unfortunately Grace was born with Cerebral Palsy & has gone on to develop Epilepsy, Global Development Delay & speech problems.

Despite being unable to do a lot of the things you or I take for granted she's usually got a smile on her face & loves to join in with her brothers, family & friends activities.

But imagine you were with your friends or family & couldn't join in with the conversation or let them know what you wanted to do, or simply tell your family you love them. I've seen how frustrating this can be for Grace.

For whatever reason, Grace's speech is limited to a few words, even though she tries so hard the words that are in her head just don't make it out in a way most people can understand.

Using a PODD book, a type of assisted communication device Grace has begun to show an intelligence greater than her ability to speak, while this is great it's also very cumbersome & hard for her to use as quickly as she needs before getting frustrated.

We are looking to raise funds for an electronic assistive communication device which will be quicker & easier to use & we hope will bring a greater vocabulary to Grace's life.

Unfortunately as with most special needs equipment these things don't come cheap so we are attempting to raise around 6000 to cover the costs of the referral & equipment.

Grace and her brother Loukas who also has Cerebral Palsy & development delays will be attempting the Stafford Fun Run in their walkers, which for them might as well be the full marathon! Hopefully with the help of big brother Dylan, Mom & Dad they can complete the course.

We are looking for sponsors to help raise the funds for the communication aids & any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Can you help Grace find her voice?

If you would like to sponsor Grace please get in touch or check out the just giving page.

Thank you

I'll ask them mate, if they have got a paypal etc i'll get back to you.

The just giving thing was the usual press misleading the public, large charities pay a yearly fee to use the just giving donation system (card charges etc)

The "crowdfunding" pages which are what us normal everyday folks use is a bit different, they charge 5% but that is taken from the gift aid claim not the donation itself.
