It will depend a lot on the venue, the species you are targeting, depth you'll be fishing.
Apart from that....maggot. [:D]

If the method isn't banned on the water then that has to be your main line of attack when fishing the tip.

No point me explaining here, there are loads of articles about..... try youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-RkIuyUzJQ

Swim Stim range from Dynamite Baits is popular at the minute, but when I use it I tend to bulk it out with some crumb as it works out expensive.... especially if you're really catching.

i use flat bed method and mold, with dynamite x super red , a short hair rig about 3-4" in venue allows it with 6mm pellet and a grain of fake sweetcorn, works every time for me.

You won't go far wrong following the above approach. Just remember, if you've never fished the method before you will probably need to sit on your hands (metaphorically....... dont actually sit on your hands).

You won't get small bites, just lots of liners followed by a violent (usually) pull round.

cookyr i said id let you knoe how i got on next time out and it was turd,

tried 2 nhair rigged corn = pants
tried single hooked corn = pants
tried pop up corn = pants
went back to double red mag size 16 hook = super duper last 2 hours resulting in 11 bream smallest was a bit under 4lb biggest was a bit under 7lb

message to the thread starter buy a large size preston method mould, some small korum quick change beads and a bag of sonubaits match method mix, yo get a free feeder in the bag that fits the large mould,

Set up is simple, 6lb main line slide the method on rubber side 1st next seperate the quick change bead and slide the bead part up the the line, next tie the other part of the quick change bead to the end of your line.

fish double red maggot on a 3-4inch hook length and bury your hookbait.

cast regularly at for the firt half hour ( every 2/3 mins) then after that i never leave it more than 10.

you will catch everything on that method especially bream but if there is carp about they will take it.

if you want to target mainly carp just swap method mix for soaked 4mm pellets and fish a hair rigged 9mm sonubaits halihooker pellet,

This is by far my favourite way to fish and has accounted for some brillant days.

For me it depends on the depth of the water.

If I'm fishing in deep water (6ft+) i tend to use the method. This way i know my ball of groundbait (jammed full of lovely goodies!) will sit right on the bottom of lake before starting to disperse - inviting all those greedy fish to come feast in hope they find my hookbait.

Where-as If you're using a cage feeder on deep waters you'll find your groundbait is exploding out before the feeder has even hit the deck, which is rather pointless and a waste of bait.

Hope this helps.

ok steve will be interesting to see how you get on, make sure you take pellets and groundbait, dont just hang your hopeson 1 of them if the fishing is slow switch, (if the fishing is good still try switching and see if it get better)

i tend to buy specialist method mix groundbait because it normally comes in 2kg bags and is cheaper than 2 1kg bags.

Sonubaits Method Mix or Dynamite Baits Marine Halibut Method Mix are 2KG bags and 5.99 and 4.99 respectively
