how do i prepare expanders?

Couple of methods,
i) Buy a pellet pump ( cost from 16-99 to 19-99) unless you go to a tackle show. I got mine from Fish-o-mania for 9-99.One of the tackle fest events advertised in AT could be a good place
or
ii) put pellets in a bowl and pour on boiling water. Leave for 2 minutes ( exactly)strain off and rinse. Put them bacck into a bowl of cold water. Any that are still floating give them a squeeze and they will sink
