Haven’t been for a couple of years but used to attend regular (even tried to qualify once). Just seen the peg board and was surprised to see very few “names”. I appreciate times have moved on but when I used to go part of the enjoyment was talking to and watching some of the biggest names in our sport. I remember Des Taylor was fishing it once because he said he would catch more using specialist tactics rather than match tactics. But this year no Dave Harrell, Bob Nudd, Wayne Swinscoe, 5 times, Tommy, Fatha etc.
Only really recognised James Robbins and Jon Arthur.
It may just be that I’ve lost touch with things over the years.

They no longer invite anglers, they are all qualifiers, they are no doubt most of the best anglers on the venue.

Bit of a hoo haa about James Robins weigh in. Folk are slamming the weigh man for taking an age and for touching the scales(digital) whilst weighing his catch. I think it was ok, it took a while which is never good when ounces and dramms count but he was saying the digi scales have to 'hold' before he can call out the weight. Have a look
