As I am fairly new to pole fishing I was wondering I somebody could give me some advice on the best type of Pole elastic Lubricant to use. I've heard some say washing up liquid and others say hair conditioner, but I would of thought these could damage the elastic, any advice most welcome

Best i've found to use is called "Son of a gun" or "Armourall" which can be bought from Halfords or any car spares type place. Its a bumper/interior cleaner that doesn't harm your elastic.

Very similar to the prestons and vespe "slippery eel" in the same type of dispenser but half the price.

Don't use washing up liquid, as it contains salts that will corrode the elastic.
I use Co-op hair conditioner, mixed 50-50 with water, or Son of a Gun/Armourall.

Good old pond juice works well and it's free!
I've had trouble with hair conditioner mixes which have resulted in knots unravelling due to lubrication of the elastic.
Maybe it's my knots.

I must agree with Richard Pond Juice is excellent, and it does not rot your elastic. I've tried some of the others and all they really seamed to do was shorten the life of my elastic.
