Gents,

Wondered if anyone could point us in the direction of the eel nets. have heard a few people mention them and would be interested in having a go especially following Neil's report about windies being not so good on his visit.

Also would be intersted in the barbel fishing/big bream on the Waal?.

Any help is always warmly welcomed as relative newcomers to the area.

Cheers[:H]

hi baldrick jnr
the area they call the eel nets on the haringvliet is the Hellvoetsluis side of the dam wall,as you drive as if to go across the dam you need to be on the minor road that runs alongside the main one, take the 2nd turning of this road down an incline onto what is a large field,as you follow the track right to the waters edge and it starts to go back on itself there is a large concrete affair that is flat level with the banking, look out and you will see large wooden posts sticking up in the water these are the eel nets. prebait get early next morning and enjoy !!!!!!!!

Try this barbeel.eu
When you going over ? the nearest place on the waal if you going from hellvoetsluis with a large barbel population is from Haaften upstream

Guys thanks for the info. was looking for the reply to this question on the wrong thread thought I had posted it on the Who's going to Holland thread and only just found your replies. too many wines/real ales I think. We did find the spot but did not fish it due to wind issues but will definately make a point of it next time. God willing
