as a spin off from martins post, what do you take with you (foodwise) when you go fishing.

do matchmen eat/drink during a match or wait till the end.
what about specialist anglers, i know some carp men take gas cookers but do ya just take beans and soup type stuff or do you have a 5 course banquet.

i personally just tend to throw half a dozen choccy bars into the bottom of my bag and munch them whenever i feel like, i do drink a lot of tea though (take two 1ltr flasks and a half ltr one). when the wife goes it's great, she makes up a b***y great food hamper, pork pies, choise of buttys (cut into funny shapes),pop, crisps, bicuits etc.

i dont spoil your fishing, so dont you spoil mine......take your rubbish home.
original "clean banks campaign" slogan.

It depends on the time of year. In the summer its drinks only flask and or bottle or I may take a mars bar. Winter is different then out comes the stove I have fresh hot drinks. Food is either beans and sausage or one of the beans n breakfasts or bacon egg and sausage. In the days when I rubbish fished then I took tinned cassseroles etc, bacon & egg. To end theres no mention of pot noodles I hate the b****y things. John

chill out go fishing

licklips.gif Matchdays a group of us usually meet up at a local cafe for a full English breakfast.
(or a little chef as a last resort drooling.gif )
If i'm fishing a match in winter it's a flask of soup and maybe a couple of scotch eggs,in summer just a litre of orange or lemon thats been in the freezer overnight.
PS.Can heartily reccomend one of Alan & Lyn's full English extravaganza's as served up at the last Fish-in i attended. cheeseburger.gif

Sadly, on a regime for eating, so its normally half a sandwich every 2 hours!

BUT occasionally, I get treated by the Ainsleys like John ESOX, Martin and happily on Monday, I,ve been offered a Troggy breakfast!

Can,t wait!!

Before a match if i'm not going straight from work in a rush it's the cafe for a breky. And whilst fishing a match it's normaly 2 choc bars and the coffee in the flask.

If night fishing then it's the full monty, stove sas/bacon/eggs and anything else and plenty of coffee.

I think im like most people. Have as big a breakfast as i can stomach in the morning and either take a few sarnies if pleasure fishing or a couple of snikers bars if its a match. If im dead busy i rearly feel hungry but often feel my throats been slit at about 3pm!

If your struggling for bites pour a cup of coffe and hold it in one hand while holding a snary to your mouth with the other. garunteed every time! icon_smile.gif

By the way, when you guys meet Malc you'll want to donate some grub to him as he looks like he hasnt eaten for a week icon_smile.gif

Only take a big jug of water and, if doing a night session, a HUGE thermos of coffee.

david i would not go to a garage that would not give me a loan car,
even just for a couple of hours ,please do not go to a micky mouse garage in future
every garage that only uses main dealer parts should give you a load car mate

and 5 weeks ? what sort of car do you own ? couple of hour max from a peougot dealer

it isint the size of the tiddler that counts

I said to my partner, Margaret, "What is a Stotty cake" and she told me that it is a cross between a roll and a scone. I thought how the hell do you know that. (She is being a smarta*** lately) So to prove her wrong ha ha ha I looked at the Internet. Sory dear, grovel grovel you are right.

Stotty Cake
Stotty cakes are discs of dough baked at the bottom of the oven. The origin of the name Stotty Cake is unknown, though stotted in North-Eastern dialect means bounced. Perhaps this reflected how the baker would throw them on to the oven floor as a preliminary, or to use up the leftovers.

In any case, this hasn't diminished their popularity in the North-East, where they are often cut open and filled with bacon or ham, pease pudding, cheese, or maybe some jam for tea.

Isn't this Internet thing wonderful.. What do I win and when can I pick it up?
