Could anyone please explain the advantage or disadvantage of doubling the elastic in your pole.

As last night I fished with a double six yellow preston and caught a 6lbs 15ozs carp, managed to land it ok but it took 25 mins - is this normal or should I have had a stronger elastic.

Carp up to 10lb in this lake, several pegs with lillies and several without. This fish was caught in the open water peg.

Many thanks, Howard

For that stamp of fish u need D8, or at least a pulla if the average stamp is less.

Adv: soft on strike, powers up quick

D.Adv: solids wear quick, sticks in/out of pole.

Best used with a pulla and wet wall aligners.

I find the preston natural works better than the flouro, smoother and less stick, god knows why?

pulla kit helps alot,i had an 18lb common out in 20mins,bit hairy mind you.

My first try with D8-10 middy (yellow) failed I hit a fish thats propoly still running ! Second try ages to land a fish. Third try landed fish in seconds ( had changed back to solid 14 ! ) double 6-8 thro a pulla was good for silvers as its soft when shipping back. And will handle the odd bigger fish.
