Dog Food vs Cat Food

Many fisheries have banned Cat food but does the same apply to Dog food?

The reason I ask is that they are two very different things, the makeup is different as are the contents. You shouldn't feed cat food to a dog for that reason, however when you open up a tin of Pedigree chum in either Jelly or Gravy it certainly looks like it should have a pair of Carp's lips sucking at the chunks

I think any venue which has banned cat food will probably have included dog food too.

I've tried the latter but found there were two problems with it -
one the cubes are a lot bigger than cat food and
two the meat seems to be a much firmer texture.

One of the major reasons why cat food is so effective is IMO the fact that it's so soft (at least the Coshida is anyway) and it's almost like fishing a bit of square shaped paste. I always bury the hook in cat food but I'd a bit worried with dog food that it wouldn't pull through the meat - although I guess you could just hair-rig it which would solve that problem.
