Well I am almost 57, my sons run rings round me at the gym. My eldest said dad come on lets go for a run he means at least 10 miles. Folks yes in days gone by I could do this with the boys no problem. Not now they are saying come on dad are you getting old. The truth is yes I am but they will not let me grow old. I am now a little thin on top and thick in the middle but these boys think I am still the dad they knew who took them running, climbing and cycling.
I have put on weight I am told I am no longer at a fighting weight and could not go into battle. Hell I am 57 I have done my bit I am still servine you and my country so I am no longer a young fit soldier.
Today I got up and thought stuff getting old I have years left and I aim to get fit again and make the buggers eat their words. I have a brill wife great pals, two strong fit sons and a grandson I love to bits I am not going to throw in the towel. Just goes to show how an injury can make you feel down. Three months off work after an injury on duty. It has sure made me think.

Hell no! at 44 i can still run a few miles, i still get into 34 waist jeans same as 10 years ago, boot cut not regular, radio 1 not 2, trainers not shoes, Calvin Clein not old spice, lights on not off, vitamin c not viagra, Next not primark, addidas not addinuff, creased not creases, out on the p*ss not out for a couple but i will admit that the prolific hair growth inside my ears is a bit of a worry. I am 60, I can still get into 34 waist jeans, trouble comes when I try to do up the zip!!!!!

I used to take part in orienteering while I was in the army, played football, cricket and rugby for my unit and played my last game of rugby when I was 41, broke my collarbone in that game.

Now overweight, drink red wine sparingly (honest), rarely go to pubs because they are too far to walk to, still go fishing, (as long as I can drive to the peg, or they are not too far to walk)

I now feel my age, and am suitably miserable with it.

Still going strong here at fifty going on fifteen sometimes! Despite busting my back some years ago I am usually fit as a fiddle and guess what HOOKIT I have STOPPED SMOKING and I feel......just the bloody same as I did when I smoked but sometimes not quite as chilled lol!
To be serious I see youngmen who look about six months pregnant walking with a slouch eating burgers n fries,or pie and chips or kebabs and standing around drinking cans of booze and I actually fear for their well being in the not too distant future.

My daughter and her mate came round the other day when I had my top off doing some gardening and her mate said "pwoooooarh youve got a better body than my boyfriend and hes in his twenties" I skipped around the rest of the day like a ten year old lmao!

Always been active, Boxing,Army,Martial Arts, Weight Training,Circuit Training Fishing,Gardening, and to be honest I feel that keeping fit and occupied when your young sets you up for when you start to get, well lets say not so young
As I said to my lad I can out fight, out work and definately outfeck most men of my own age and certainly give those younger than me more than a run for their money.

I am only 28 but I have started to feel old lately. Before having Josh I was the youngest in the group of friends we had and went out with regularly. Now what with me no longer working (except Sundays) and Nic having changed job our circle of friends has changed (not that we don't still see our old mates but not as often as we used to). I am now average age of the friends I have made through Josh, eldest by far at work on Sundays and don't know any of Nic's current work mates as he works so far away!

All the guys I work with at Clarks on a Sunday are either at school or college and up until about a month ago even the Sunday supervisor was only 20!!! I felt like the granny of the bunch.
