i have never been into photograpy, dont even know how to put the 110 cartridge in but after being on m/d's for a while and seeing the pics that get shown on here i want to have a go.

ok, my question, i have read in a couple of comp mags that ya can get a digi camera for about 90, would one of them be any good for me? i want to just put it in my luggage bag, take it out when needed (if i ever catch a fish) and just point and click, basically it has to be idiot proof, oh yeh, it's also gotta be simple to get the pictures off the camera and onto my pc. help.gif

p.s, one that makes any fish i catch look bigger would be even better. thumbsup.gif

Ray,
You are in exactly same position I was in January, when Dave showed me the Olympus100 that I bought.
Now as a package, you will need to spend about 150 for that, but I believe that even the 25 camera from Poundstretcher will do all I can!
I still cant take very good pics! just point and press, but like your comment, I just want to take an instant pic., use the included package to tailor it for the forum, and have learnt how to put it up!

I'm still damn slow, but it gets easier!

I cant help with any other model as I have never used anything but this!

Cheers

After dragging my wife & children all over Stafford looking for a decent but cheap digi cam i found a really good one in the last place i would've looked.

Its a specialist camera shop in a back street who is normally the most expensive you can find BUT

I got a fuji @xia ix-10 camera with flash, lens guard, batteries, usb & video leads, 2mb memory card & all the software needed to download & edit the pics.

This little lot came to a grand total of 79 that was the cheapest in Stafford (we know cos we'd checked everywhere else).

If its just a point n shoot for day time use mate then i would recommend the cool-i-cam from argos or index one will set you back 50 (page 558 of argos cat)

Have a good look round mate but remember the higher the "pixels" the better the picture & if you buy one with "internal memory" you can't switch it off till you've downloaded the pics you've taken.

I paid 40 for a tiny little one from Lidls. Ok for look and snap. Stores photos until battery is disconnected, just can't be bothered to load programme on my computer, oh and bateries don't last very long.

Toma with my camera (Canon Powershot A20) i plug the camera in to the USB and turn it on but in preview mode and not in take a picture mode. Windows detects it and opens up the canon app thats used to download off the camera. It should be that easy mate if its a USB one.

Yes its real easy to use you just plug it into your pc's usb port n it tells you what to do to download n save your pics icon_smile.gif

No the carp pic was taken with the cheapie i brought from argos (which also doubles as a web cam) like i said mate take your time looking round & you'll find the bargains, To be honest the only reason i brought a new one was i needed one with a flash on it cos i do a bit of night fishing.

Looking forward to seeing your first "diy" digi pixs mate icon_smile.gif (if its of a white acres catfish i'll go bloody mad)

Ray,
Don't know how far forward you are with your search, but I noticed an
Ad as I came on line.
AOL shops are doing an offer on a Jenopix Camera, 1.3 megapixel, 32 photo inbuilt memory,
Complete with editing software package 99.99

Cheers
