Is there a screw at the side of the seat catch and if so is there a screw visible at the front when you slide the catch back?

If so remove both screws and the catch should come off

Can you post a photo of the new catch and old?

If you click the icon on the post bar (as below) and follow the instructions to add a photo...

Are there any screws inside the lid into the back of the hinge unit?

It looks like the complete hinge needs to come off to get to whatever is retaining the sliding pin

No screws on inside or visible apart from 1 side screw as shown above
Looks similar to the matrix if so try removing the pin rather than the entire unit . The clip on the side appears to be what locks the pin in place. Grip the pin with a pair of long nose pliers and see if you can push it out the side or grip the plastic block attached to the pin and give that a pull.

Looks like the hinge fits in the red tube, try undoing the screws on one edge see if it pulls out, might be a retaining catch for broken bit on the inside.
