Best advice would be to walk a few laps of the water trying to spot fish before setting up, let us know how you get on!!

Great scenery, those few miles will zip by, all flat easy terrain get a few laps in! Skiddaw and Blencathra are well worth a stroll when you're done with the fishing too 👍

Permits cost £7 per day and it’s run by Keswick Angling Association. You can get them from the newsagent on Keswick High St - can’t remember the name - he sells bait too. He may know best areas on the lake but it’s normally fished from boats. A lot of the shoreline is privately owned & ‘strictly’ bailiffed…..plus parking can be an issue. Have a look on the KAA website as some decent info on there. Some huge perch are caught too. Enjoy, it’s a beautiful part of the country.

No worries, buddy. Just be aware that the bailiffs aren’t employed by the EA. They’re more of your Game Keeper/ Farmer types. There are maps on the KAA website showing where you’re welcome with a day ticket & where you’re not. Enjoy, there’s some great fishing to be had. Lake Bassenthwaite next door is pretty good too.
