Derby Railway Angling Club organised a litter pick on Saturday, March 26th, in support of the Keep Britain Tidy Great British Spring Clean. Six members of the club cleared litter from about a mile of its fishing on the Derbyshire Derwent to demonstrate to the wider community that anglers care about the environment. It is the aim of clubs involved in fishing the upper Derwent to pick the whole of the catchment this Spring. They collected eight full bin bags of rubbish, mostly plastic deposited by the winter floods, including feed bags and baler twine, plus the inevitable poo bags. The local council, who were very grateful for their efforts, arranged to collect and dispose of the rubbish collected. To tell us how you are supporting the Spring Clean, submit your photos on our Angling Trust Anglers Against Litter webpage. The post Derby anglers clean up mile of Derwent in support of Great British Spring Clean appeared first on Angling Trust.
