It’s for the Middle Severn so whatever I catch there. Rod will be an acolyte ultra. (when I get one, Tricast Excellence in the meantime) Sticks will be say 5x4+ and wagglers 2g+. Sound about right?

I would expect the odd bonus fish. So that would be 2.6lb Bayer Perlon at 0.16mm or 2.1lb at 0.14?
@Zerkalo I'd stick with the DH 4lb for your float fishing, it's served me well landing fish upto 9lb on 0.12 HL . I'm not surprised it breaks before the Bayer 3.2 as that is 0.18 vs the DH 4lb @0.16

Diameter matters :)

You have also got to consider how often you wish to change a line before it starts to deterate, some lines have to be changed more often than others dia is one thing longevity is another. After half a dozen days on the water its worth checking all lines just to make sure its not breaking way under what it should.
