Sad news that Peter Broxup, Savay bailiff and captor of many large fish has passed away. Reportedly shortly after the capture of a 46lb common.

he was playing a fish on an island swim when he slipped in and had a heart attack.

Thought he had an heart attack and then fell in? Either way its sad but given the choice Chris its how I would wish to go myself.

Having seen a young (23) squaddies funeral procession in Hucknall today I was once again reminded that life is very short and very cheap in the Middle East. The lad got a decent send off but I felt for his family and remaining relatives. I havent witnessed the union flag at half mast for many years, the sight of it moving in the breeze atop the local church (Lord Byron and Ben Caunt both buried there incidently) was very touching.
