Earlier today I received an email that contained a worm virus
This is a mass-mailing worm with an attachment.

If the attachment is opened will send emails to all the people in your address book, sending them the virus.

The email if you receive one reads.

Hi! How are you?
I send you this file in order to have your advice.
See you later.

The attachment I received was entitled River Barrow Redd count 1999-2000 xls.pif.

Do not open this attachment.

This attachment seems to be aimed at anglers as it has River in its title

Details on how to eradicate this can be found here.

This is an interesting one....

I have received these emails and have opened one of them in the beggining, my anti virus software dealt with it no problem, the thing is someone is hacking email systems they must be as the mail has come from someone in my address book every time & not from anyone else, I know I've not sent it to anyone as my anti virus stopped it first time (I FINK).

If anyone needs good anti virus stuff that will deal with this then go to and try to remember never to open email from any address you don't recognize!

Be Lucky, Robin

Apparently there is a new strain of the 'Code Red' worm that is causing more than a few problems. Click this link for a page full of bumph:,12737,6020700,00.html?chkpt=hud0022420dp

(I thought that a virus was an excuse to have a day off work fishing, and the worm was the bait
