Hi all

Got a day off booked for Wednesday and looking at where to fish 2 hours of Manchester.

I usually get over to Partridge (and tbh honest because it is the closest and really nicely done - I'll probably end up there) which is only 40 mins away, but looking at perhaps somewhere new.

I've fished before:

Weston Pools
Cudmore
Gawsworth
Hampton Springs

Front runner at the moment is probably Lindholme

I'm looking for something with decent action all day, and if possible a place where you really dont know what is coming out next.

Suggestions appreciated.

Cheers

Larford - any of the three lakes will give decent action all day. This summer I have had bream, roach, and a tench take my meat. Takes me two and a quarter hours from Preston, so it should be within your radar.

I fished Turners Pool near Macclesfield on Saturday and had a blinder. 30 carp up to 8lb on method feeder and pellet waggler. Looks and feels more like a natural water but full of fish. Bit pricey at a tenner but I definitely got my money's worth. You will need a sat nav to find it though. About a hours drive from Mcr.

Cheers everyone.

Actually ended up at Alvechurch Fisheries a little over 2 hours away from me.

Fished canal - elastic got a proper stretching. Didnt really move out of the margins fishing caster on thr hook and banded, double maggot and soft pellet on the hook for 40+ fish, a mix of predominantly barbel, mirrors, ide, perch, with a few nice roach.

Fantastic place, really impressed. Slightly out of range for regular visits but will deffo be down again.

Another vote for Heronbrook although it is not fishing its head off by normal standards at the moment. Still good weights though.
